Ownership Group

Roc City Boom is owned by Icon Productions LLC. They have surrounded themselves with a group of very passionate soccer players both past and present, coaches, managers, and supporters of the beautiful game. The group is also spread throughout the Greater Rochester Region, from the inner city to the suburbs and surrounding counties. Not only have they been involved in local High School Soccer, but also have close ties to travel teams in the area, as well as numerous collegiate teams. The ownership group is the one that brought the Rochester River Dogz to the NPSL in 2016. Recognizing that there was a gap in Rochester soccer between the professional ranks and lower level amateur soccer. Their crowning achievement on the field was qualifying for the 2018 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, becoming the 1st amateur team from Rochester to qualify for the Cup in over 45 years.

Player Development

Roc City Boom intends to create and manage a professionally run soccer team in NISA Nation. We operate out of the city of Rochester, in Western New York. Our purpose is to develop soccer talent in the Greater Rochester Area and assist these players by providing them with an environment that helps them reach their full potential. The effort will be to elevate and provide access for local amateur players to transcend into the professional soccer markets as well as to instill aspirations and goals to these amateur players as they progress along their soccer careers. The team’s roster will be comprised of elite local talent, local collegiate athletes and other scouted players, with a strong emphasis on our local communities.

Our Community

The Greater Rochester Area has always been a competitive region for soccer. The RDSL has been in existence since 1913 and currently is the largest and most organized amateur league in Upstate Western New York. The RDSL Premier Division is one of eleven leagues in the United States that have been recognized as an elite amateur league. In 1963 RDSL housed the US Amateur Cup, being represented in the competition by the victorious Italian Americans local squad. Then in 1996, Team Lapine went on to play in the US Amateur Cup finals against the Denver Kickers, unfortunately losing the final during penalty kicks. Rochester has also produced several professional soccer athletes, including Juan Pablo Galavis (USL Division), Dema Kovalenko (MLS), Brian Bliss (MLS), and most famously Abby Wambach (WSL, 2 time Olympic gold medalist, Women’s World Cup Champion and all-time highest scoring international player).
