Strategic Alliance: Roc City Boom Affiliates with MASL 2's Salisbury Steaks
ROCHESTER, NY & SALISBURY, MD — In a move designed to strengthen the talent pipeline and support the growth of arena soccer in both Rochester and Delmarva, the Roc City Boom (MASL 3) and the Salisbury Steaks (MASL 2) have officially announced a new strategic affiliation. This partnership ensures that Boom players have a direct pathway to the higher tier of professional indoor soccer while also offering crucial support to the Steaks during their unique 2025-2026 season.
Steaks on the Road: A Season of Resolve
The Salisbury Steaks are facing an unprecedented challenge this season, playing their entire 2025-2026 schedule on the road after being unable to secure a contract extension at their former home, the Crown Sports Center. Salisbury's management views this not as a setback, but as motivation to represent the Delmarva region across the league's footprint. The affiliation with Roc City provides a vital support structure as they navigate this challenging season.
Boom Support and Player Loans
As part of the affiliation, the Roc City Boom organization will lend support to the Steaks and, most importantly, loan key players to the MASL 2 side, giving them valuable experience at a higher level of competition.
Two key players highlighted for this opportunity are:
• Jeremy Loncao: The versatile defender who gives a veteran presence for the Boom will now bring his two-way play and experience to the MASL 2 level.
• Preston Garcia: A strong target forward within the Roc City Boom’s organization, Garcia is expected to bolster the Steaks' attacking options during their road campaign.
This player development pathway is a core philosophy for both clubs, aiming to give top regional talent a platform to showcase their abilities at the next level.
A United Front for Indoor Soccer
"This affiliation is about growing the game and providing opportunities for players in both of our markets," said officials from the Roc City Boom. "Supporting the Steaks during their 'road warrior' season makes sense for the arena soccer community as a whole. We're proud to see our players step up to the MASL 2 challenge."
Fans can follow the progress of Loncao, Garcia, and the rest of the Salisbury Steaks on the Major Arena Soccer League 2 website as they compete for an M2 title. Meanwhile, the Roc City Boom continue their quest for the MASL 3 championship, with home games played at the Rochester Sports Garden.
